Creative Resources/RadioFreeAmsterdam Pot smokers are not criminals in Amsterdam. John Sinclair is a poet, DJ, one-time manager of the band MC5; and jailed in 1969 after giving two joints to an undercover officer. His case received international attention when John Lennon performed at a benefit concert on his behalf in 1971. In Italy, Sinclair received the prestigious Premio Matteo Salvatore literary honor in November 2006. Today Mr. Sinclair divides his time between international touring and living in Amsterdam; writing, recording, performing and hosting the John Sinclair Radio Show on www.RadioFreeAmsterdam.com. John Sinclair: Guide to Amsterdam is a one hour DVD tour in which John visits some prominent coffeeshops, seed shops, Cannabis College and the Hash Marihuana and Hemp Museum. He talks with coffeeshop owners, cannabis experts and activists to reveal the unique cannabis scene in Amsterdam. Separating fact and truth from myth and rumor, this is a DVD for those who are curious or planning a first trip to Amsterdam; as well as those who are already familiar with the coffeeshop scene.
